DM Events & Design is a full-service wedding planning and design studio built for couples who want their wedding to feel like them - a one-of-a-kind celebration. We believe a wedding should reflect not only your style, but the spirit of your story, and we’re passionate about creating experiences that feel as good as they look.
Our approach is equal parts creativity and precision - obsessing over flow, guest experience, and the hundreds of details that make an event feel effortless. From managing timelines and budgets to anticipating needs and navigating the unexpected, we create space for our clients to be fully present and enjoy every moment of their day.

Dawn Goldsmith
Owner & Creative Director
What started out as a fun endeavor sixteen years ago has developed into a full-grown love for everything weddings! Wedding planning allows Dawn to satisfy her love of developing close personal relationships while taking a vision and transforming it into reality. She’s had the joy of producing such varied events as classic New York City weddings to cozy Hamptons backyard fetes and everything in between. Dawn loves every aspect of planning and design, but most importantly, the relationship she fosters with her couples and making their dream a reality. She approaches every wedding with great thoughtfulness, coveted industry connections, and invaluable experience. Dawn’s work has been featured on Martha Stewart Weddings, Style Me Pretty, Over the Moon, The Knot, 100 Layer Cake, and Carats & Cake.
For Dawn, nothing beats producing the perfectly curated event, other than enjoying life in Brooklyn (East Hampton on the weekends!) with her husband, Cliff, and their two beloved dogs, Penny and Emma. When she’s not planning weddings, she delights in throwing intimate dinner parties and planning her next trip!

Emilija (Em) Nakas
Lead Planner
While attending the University of Washington, Em studied Drama and Visual Art. Her theatre background has proved to be remarkably useful when it comes to event production, and her experience in the art world has made her a creative "outside the box" thinker. She has a genuine love for people, which translates into an openness to understand and appreciate each of our unique couples. Her favorite part of any wedding is learning about the different ways you and your families celebrate and finding special ways to honor that on your big day. After spending many years in-house at a popular Brooklyn venue, she wanted to expand her role by working with couples not only on the wedding day itself but throughout the entire planning process. Over the past five years, she has become our go-to for all things planning and logistics, and her love and respect from our couples earned her the well-deserved title of Lead Planner.
When she's not working, Em is cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles (even though she has never lived in Philly!) and perfecting her family's Lithuanian recipes.

Alex Moorman
Lead Coordinator
Alex has always loved hosting a party - everything from intimate gatherings to full blown bashes. Her true love for weddings developed after planning her own six years ago. While most people can feel overwhelmed by the process, she absolutely loved it and wanted to help other couples enjoy the process too. She took that passion, along with her extensive marketing and creative background, and turned it into a career. Just like her personal style, Alex loves layering different aesthetics to create a unique design for her couples - her go-to outfit, a floral dress and leather jacket (feminine with a bit of edge!).
Alex has a natural ability to connect with the couples she works with and develop true friendships. She is all hands on deck when it comes to wedding planning - from design to logistics she eagerly jumps in to ensure your day is everything you’ve dreamed of and more. She’s a quick thinker with a love for problem solving so you can ensure you’ll be in great hands. You can count on Alex to be your teammate throughout the planning process and, of course, on your big day!
Before beginning her career as an event planner, Alex worked as a marketer for both large corporations and small businesses. In this field, Alex developed strong project management skills and learned how to effectively communicate with and support her couples. Alex received her undergraduate degree and MBA from Hofstra University with a major in Marketing and a minor in Finance.
When she’s not planning weddings, you can find Alex perfecting a floral arrangement, chasing around her two boys, Cal and Hayes, or scoping out a new restaurant with her husband, Ryan!
